The Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s commitment to education is demonstrated by the support of Sea Scout Ship #117 of the Boy Scouts of America, Tuckerton, New Jersey. Sea Scouts provides boys and girls, ages 14 – 20, an opportunity to learn boating safety, operation, navigation, and maintenance in a supportive, secure environment. Skipper “Bill” Murphey is this youth program advisor with the goal of fostering a life-long love of boating and respect for the sea.
The Sea Scout Ship’s current project is a 40 foot former Coast Guard Boat which they hope to launch this June.
