Tom Kerr, a proud native of Kempton, Berks County, Pennsylvania, is bringing three Cocktail Class Racers to the Atlantic City Boat Show. Among them is RAJIC (#46), a boat he meticulously built from plans available through the Cocktail Class Wooden Boat Racing Association (CCWBRA). His other two racers, BOOEY SCREWY (#42) and SCREWY BOOEY (#43), were constructed as a matching set from kits sold by Chesapeake Light Craft.

Each boat has its own unique power source: BOOEY SCREWY (#42) is paired with a 1994 6 h.p. OMC motor, while SCREWY BOOEY (#43) runs on a 1986 8 Hp. OMC. Meanwhile, RAJIC (#46) competes in three different 6 Hp. motor classes, exclusively using OMC motors manufactured between 1966 and 1985.

A Thriving Racing Community. But what truly sets this racing group apart is its inclusive, fun-first atmosphere. CCWBRA islow on testosterone and high on camaraderie, welcoming women and youth racers (ages 12 and up) to join the action. Here, the thrill of the race is second only to the joy of participation.

Getting Involved is Easy and Affordable. Joining CCWBRA – and getting into Cocktail Class racing – doesn’t have to break the bank. You can build a boat from a kit or plans.
