Luxury 1959 Classic Century Coronado “Sea Deuce”
Nick has transformed his 21-foot speedboat into a luxurious, custom ride. Since first encountering the boat at the age of eight, he has rebuilt and updated it twice. Now, it proudly features an LS2 Chevrolet engine package with 385 horsepower—a significant upgrade that not only ensures a reliable start but also boosts performance well beyond the original 55 MPH.
Modern enhancements include a GPS speedometer, seamlessly integrated into a period-appropriate gauge, which accurately records onboard speeds. Traditional gauges such as the clock, tachometer, and voltmeter have been replaced with advanced electronic versions. Soft red LED cockpit lighting adds a warm glow, making navigation easy even after dark.
Inside, the seat cushions and frames have been completely revamped with deep padding for enhanced comfort. The compact design of the new Chevy engine has also freed up an extra 7 inches of legroom between the front and rear seating rows. Additional thoughtful features include a heated cockpit—ideal for crisp fall cruises on Pennsylvania lakes—and a motorized sliding top, eliminating the need for manual operation. The side glass has been upgraded to real glass, replacing the original Plexiglas typical of a 1959 Century Coronado.
This Century Coronado is the second of its kind in Nick’s family, now home-ported on Harveys Lake, PA. Clearly, the boat has benefited from years of careful attention and expert modifications. Congratulations to Nick on creating such a stunning and powerful speedster!
